Bottom line

FET is the token of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, now Fetch.ai, SingularityNET and CUDOS after Ocean Protocol left in October 2025 and sold about 263M FET into the market. The products are real (Agentverse claims ~2.7M registered agents, ASI:One takes payments in FET or USDC) but no paid-usage figures are published. The token fell 67% from its November 2025 spike to an August 2026 low and has since bounced about 64%; it held up slightly better than BTC and ETH over 12 months. The case rests on ASI:Chain shipping and agent payments actually using FET rather than USDC.

How an AI agent request flows through the ASI stack

User
Asks ASI:One for a task

For example, find and book a restaurant table.

ASI:One
Plans and picks agents

The model searches Agentverse for agents that can do the job.

Almanac
On-chain agent directory

Agents register endpoints on the Fetch chain; registration pays a small FET fee.

Agents
Negotiate and execute

Booking agent talks to the venue's agent over the uAgents protocol.

Payment
Settled in FET or USDC

User or agent pays the service fee; FET is optional.

Validators
Secure the chain

Staked FET validators process transactions and earn rewards.

Where FET comes in: gas and staking on the Fetch chain, agent registration fees, and one of two payment options. Payments in USDC bypass FET, and most agent traffic is off-chain messaging, so token demand from usage is small; ASI:Chain is meant to change that.

No paid-usage or burn figures exist for FET, so the closest equivalent is identified buying vs new float. Interactive Strength held 59M FET in Aug 2026 (The Block). Ocean-linked wallets sold ~263M FET in Jul–Oct 2025 (Cointelegraph, Bubblemaps). Unlocks: ~2.55M FET a month × 15 months from one unverified July 2026 analysis. New float was several times identified buying.

FET has visible products but no public scoreboard for paid usage. Until agent payment volume in FET (not USDC) or ASI:Chain fees are published, the token trades on AI sentiment and supply events like the Ocean sell-off.

Project

What it is
A token and agent stack for AI: the Fetch.ai chain (Cosmos SDK), Agentverse for building and listing AI agents, the ASI:One assistant, and ASI:Chain, a new layer 1 in development. FET is the token of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance formed in 2024.
Team
Fetch.ai (CEO Humayun Sheikh, who also chairs the alliance), SingularityNET (Ben Goertzel) and CUDOS. Ocean Protocol withdrew in October 2025.
Technology
Autonomous agents register in an on-chain directory, find each other and transact; ASI:One routes user requests to them. ASI:Chain DevNet is live and tests a blockDAG consensus designed for agents.
Traction
~2.7M agents registered on Agentverse (Jun 2026, company figure; registrations, not paying users). Agent payments in FET and USDC launched in June 2026. No on-chain fee or payment volumes are published.
Competitors
Bittensor (TAO), Virtuals, NEAR AI, Render and io.net for compute, plus Web2 agent platforms from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic that need no token.
Key risks
Ocean dispute and its ~263M FET sales showed how much supply sits with alliance members; agents can pay in USDC and skip FET; roadmap dates for ASI:Chain have slipped and come mainly from secondary sources.
Roadmap
ASI:Create open beta was described as imminent in late Aug 2026; ASI:Chain public testnet is planned for 2026 and mainnet for late 2026 or early 2027 (media reports, no firm official date found).

FET lost less than BTC and ETH over 12 months, but only because it started from an already depressed level. Over 3 years it is roughly −10% (from ~$0.22 in Oct 2023), far behind BTC (~+179% from ~$29.7k) and ETH (~+53% from ~$1.6k); 3-year figures are manual because the free CoinGecko API covers 365 days.

ATH check ATH check passed. FET started trading in Feb 2019 and set its $3.45 high on 28 Mar 2024, five years later during the AI-token boom, so the ATH is used as the reference. Price is now 94% below it.

Tokenomics

Supply
Max 2.71B FET after the 2024 merger; ~2.31B circulating (85%). FDV $538M vs market cap $458M.
Inflation
Validators and delegators on the Fetch chain earn rewards funded by inflation and fees; quoted yields are ~5–8% APR (Oct 2025), varying by provider.
Unlocks
~403M FET not yet circulating. Tokenomist shows mostly cliff releases with a schedule running to 2050; one July 2026 analysis puts monthly cliffs near 2.55M FET. Sources disagree, so treat as approximate.
Utility
Gas and staking on the Fetch chain, agent registration, payments in Agentverse and ASI:One (alongside USDC), and governance.
Concentration
Alliance members held large treasuries: Ocean's community stash converted 661M OCEAN into ~286M FET and sold ~263M of it in Jul–Oct 2025.
Sinks
Staking; Interactive Strength (TRNR) treasury held 59M FET (Aug 2026); a $50M Fetch Foundation buyback was announced in Jun 2025. No meaningful fee burn.

Bull case

ASI:Chain reaches mainnet on time and agent payments start routing through FET, with published volumes. Price holds the ~$0.15 September base and retakes the $0.25 to $0.28 zone (late Sep 2026, May 2026 highs), with the Nov 2025 spike at $0.371 as the next target.

Bear case

ASI:Chain slips into 2027, USDC dominates agent payments and AI-token interest fades. Price loses $0.15 and retests the $0.121 August low; further unlocks or alliance-member selling add supply with no buyer of size besides a small treasury company.

Watch before the next re-run

  • ASI:Chain public testnet and mainnet dates
  • Published agent payment volume in FET vs USDC
  • Large transfers from alliance and foundation wallets to exchanges
  • $0.15 support and the $0.25 to $0.28 resistance zone
